I am planning to get a mac mini for media center purpose. I have a WDHDTV player but i am curious will i have problem with sound. since WDHDTV will play the MKV movies but no sound. I will like not to have the same problem again. Advice please

Anyone know what the trick is in the lastest versions of VLC? They’ve updated the software and the settings aren’t quite the same.

Hey!

I got the same problem, the files did not run without lag. But when changing the ffmpeg to “all” it feels like I am loosing quality. Is there any way you can try it in steps? This feels like you are going from “full” quality to “low” quality… is there no in between?

I just tried to play my first 1080p mkv file and on VLC it didn’t play well. Then I made the adjustments mentioned above and now it is playing very smoothly. Thanks…

Finally, a sollution that makes my mac mini play 1080p perfect! OMG ive been looking for this sollution for months, i had big trouble with skipping, and severe image distortion, but this web page how-to fixed it all. all my 1080p movies runs smoothly perfect now.

I have a 2 ghz mac mini. i seem to run into a pause or a quick stutter every three to five minutes seems to be not happening fast action but moderate film speed. I am currently running with only 1 gig ram will 2 gig solve this problem. Am I missing something regarding the settings on the mac mini or is there a additional software i can down load. Now I am running plex and it seems to do this with 720 and 1080 mkv files. avi files perfect. HELP Joe
